The Steel Club or Clubbells as they are often called, have been a training tool for thousands of years dating back to ancient Persia.
Warriors would train with a heavy club to develop strong shoulders and a powerful grip required for swinging heavy weapons in battle.
In recent years the club has made a comeback, especially with athletes that require superior circular shoulder strength, grip strength and rotational core strength.

The club is top notch. It’s constructed as advertised out of one piece of metal, and the grip is great with a textured powder coating that doesn’t slip with a sweaty hand.
The exercises as described by Dan are perfect and easy to follow. I purchased the club to strengthen a long-injured shoulder (30+ years). Make no mistake though if you have a shoulder injury that hasn’t recovered don’t step into it immediately, it is an advanced piece of equipment and I have only used it after having a year’s worth of physiotherapy and conditioning to get me to the point where I was ready to take the next step.
At 4kg it was spot on as described for my strength range, any lighter would not be effective for me (I bench 95kg at 8 reps and 12 rep 5kg weighted wide grip chins).
