Recently I was in a busy deal that went sour.

My business partner didn’t honor promises which cost me a lot of time and money.

At no time did I ever I blame my partner though, the fault was mine.

There’s an old parable about a scorpion and a frog.

“A scorpion asks a frog to carry it across a river. The frog hesitates, afraid of being stung, but the scorpion argues that if it did so, they would both drown. Considering this, the frog agrees, but midway across the river the scorpion does indeed sting the frog, dooming them both. When the frog asks the scorpion why, the scorpion replies that it was in its nature to do so.”

I knew beforehand that my partner lacked moral integrity, but I did the deal anyways hoping he had business integrity.

I allowed myself to be the frog, my partner was just being the scorpion.

My mistake…my screw up… and 100% my fault!

A hard pill to swallow, but if I didn’t take ownership of my mistake then I would become a victim and allow that mistake to become MY STORY.

And so it is with your health and fitness goals.

If you read any health and fitness magazine, there’ll be articles and ads telling you that it’s not your fault that you’re overweight, that it’s the food industry’s fault for loading food and drinks with sugar.

While this is true, the fact is nobody is forcing you to eat this crap. The last time I checked they weren’t adding extra sugar to fruit, vegetables, salad and water.

These BS adverts make money because in this day and age, no-body wants to take ownership, everybody wants to blame somebody else.

I know this post will offend many people, I know I will receive many complaints and I know I will get many more unsubscribes.

But, I’m fine with that.

If I don’t tell you the truth then I would be doing you a disservice and be subscribing to the same BS the mass media dishes out.

If you’re consuming too much sugar, chances are your eating the wrong types of food anyways.

The first step to getting back into shape is to first take ownership of where you are now.

Yes, it is your fault. BUT, you can take action today and change that.

By taking ownership of where you are now you stop being the victim and can begin looking for new solutions to your challenges.

I don’t know about you… but I want to write my own story and refuse to be the victim of anybody else.

So… what will YOUR STORY be?

Will you blame the scorpion or take ownership by allowing yourself to become the frog.

Will you be the victim of the ‘nasty’ food companies or will you be MASTER OF YOUR OWN DESTINY?
