If you would like to coach group fitness you’ll need the SIS30315 Certificate III in Fitness. If you would like to be a 1-1 personal trainer you’ll need the SIS40215 Certificate IV in Fitness.

To start your studies you will need to be 15 years old.
Depending on how much time you can commit to your ongoing study, each qualification will take anywhere from 3-months to 12-months.

Yes, you’ll need to obtain the HLTAID003 – Provide First Aid certificate.

Certificate 3 is the entry level qualification and minimum required to work in the fitness industry, this qualification allows you to instruct group fitness classes.

Once you have obtained your Certificate 3 you can further your studies by enroling in the Certificate 4. The Certificate 4 allows you to train 1-1 personal training clients and includes business training, strength and conditioning and digs deeper into nutrition and other key subjects.

Our Master trainer certification includes the Certificate 3, Certificate 4 and 10 additional Functional Training Certifications.

You will learn traditional strength training methods for weight loss, muscle endurance and hypertrophy (building muscle) in the Certificate 3 and Certificate 4 courses. Once you graduate from the Certificate 4 you will then be enrolled into our Master Functional Personal Trainer Certification which includes specialised training methods including kettlebells, steel clubs, steel mace, Bulgarian Bags etc.

There are two assessments required. 1) Theory 2) Practical.
For the theory you will be required to answer multiple choice questions and submit assignments. For the practical you will need to perform specific tasks and get your logbook signed off on that task by a qualified trainer.

There are no ‘exams’ in these courses, instead you are assessed module by module. If you are stuck on any particular module or do not achieve the required passmark, you are given an unlimited opportunity to resubmit your theory and practical assessments. Our team of tutors will guide and coach you until you achieve success!
Yes you do. IFA Training is the RTO responsible for issuing all statements of attainment in regards to the Certificate III and Certificate IV in Fitness qualifications. The Dangerously Fit Academy issues certificates for all short courses (power bags, kettlebells, Bulgarian bags etc). You also have the opportunity to add yourself to the Dangerously Fit Academy International directory of qualified personal trainers.
