Cert 4 Course Overview

Units of Competency

The Certificate 4 in Fitness (SIS40215) Qualification includes 20 units of competency covering everything from instructing personal training programs, supporting healthy eating through the Eat for Health Program and instructing long-term exercise programs.

After you have successfully completed the Certificate 4 in Fitness (SIS40215) you will gain access to an additional 4 certifications including kettlebells level 1, kettlebell level 2,  suspension training and boot camp.

Study Pathway

Once you have completed the Certificate 4 in Fitness you can further your knowledge by enrolling into our short courses. Our CEC short courses include everything from Kettlebells 1, 2, 3, Steel mace, Steel Clubs, Bulgarian Bags, Battle Ropes and much more. When you enter the fitness industry you will have the skills to confidently train clients with a plethora of training tools that will keep your clients engaged, motivated and coming back for more. Alternatively, you can enrol into our Certificate 4 Master Functional Trainer course.

Career Pathway

Once you graduate the SIS40215 Certificate 4 In Fitness you will have the skills and knowledge to be competent in an plethora of roles with the fitness industry which includes;  working independently in an variety of activities such as health clubs, gyms, functional training studios, swimming pools, community facilities and outdoor recreational parks.

Students that obtain this level of competency are able to train personal training clients in a one-on-one setting, which includes kids and older population.

Duration

  • Self Paced (between 3-months and 12-months)
  • Enrolment up to 12-months
  • Extensions are available upon request

Eligibility

Students must;

  • Be 16 years of age or over
  • Have successfully completed the pre-requisite units in Certificate 3
  • Hold a current 1st Aid certificate
  • Hold a current CPR certificate
  • Have access to a gym to complete the practical assessments.
  • Have access to the internet

Delivery

The Certificate 4 In Fitness qualification is delivered through a blended learning approach that combines online home study and support and guidance from your very own tutor every step of the way.

You have the option of completing the SIS40215 certification completely online, or by attending our campus on the Sunshine coast for 50-hours of practical hands on training.

Price

Option #1: Online

If you already hold the Certificate 3 In Fitness Qualification, the price for the Certificate 4 is $1950.

The Certificate 3 and Certificate 4 In Fitness combined is $3950.

Option #2: Face-To-Face

If you already hold the Certificate 3 In Fitness qualification, the price for the Certificate 4 is $2450.

The Certificate 3 and Certificate 4 qualifications combined is $4950.

Pre Requisites

Entry to this qualification is open to individuals who hold a Certificate 3 in Fitness (SIS30315) or equivalent certificate and are recognised as competent through a recognised training program or recognition process against the following units of competency:

  • SISFFIT001: Provide health screening and fitness orientation
  • SISFFIT002: Recognise and apply exercise considerations for specific populations
  • SISFFIT003: Instruct fitness programs
  • SISFFIT004: Incorporate anatomy and physiology principles into fitness programming
  • SISFFIT005: Provide healthy eating information
  • SISFFIT006: Conduct fitness appraisals
  • SISFFIT014: Instruct exercise to older clients
  • SISXCCS001: Provide quality service

Core

These units are compulsory units for Certificate IV in Fitness (SIS30315)

  • SISFFIT013: Instruct exercise to young people aged 13 to 17 years
  • SISFFIT015: Collaborate with medical and allied health professionals in a fitness context
  • SISFFIT016: Provide motivation to positively influence exercise behaviour
