Overview
The steel mace strike & uppercut is a fun exercise to add to your flows and excellent for working rotational core strength.
Teaching Points
- Stand in a boxer’s stance.
- Keep you core braced.
- Grip the mace with two hands, with one hand at the end of the handle and the other close to the mace head.
- Powerfully thrust the mace forward whilst shifting your weight onto your front foot.
- Draw the mace back then forcefully drive your rear hand upwards in an uppercut motion.
Common Problems & Solutions
Error: Losing control of the mace at the top position.
Correction: Work within a range of movement that you can safely control.
