Overview
This steel mace rotational uppercut is an excellent rotational and anti-rotational movement that teaches you how to push and pull simultaneously.
Teaching Points
- Start with the mace in the front stack position with your feet shoulder width apart.
- Rotate the mace head towards the bottom so that the mace is vertical.
- Simultaneously rotate the hip and squish the bug on the back foot, finish with both feet pointing in the same direction.
- Push the mace head up whilst you pull the handle down.
- Finish the movement when the mace is parallel to the floor.
- Reverse the movement and return to the starting position.
- Switch hands and repeat the movement on the other side.
Common Problems & Solutions
Error: Not driving the ball of your foot into ground as you pivot. Correction: Squish the bug on the back foot and rotate the hips simultaneously, let your front foot naturally rotate so that both feet end up facing the same direction.
