In today’s video, we’re diving into the Indian Club outside mill… also known as the reverse mill.

This variation has your elbow performing an outside elbow circle, which is the exact opposite of the inside mill we covered in last week’s video.

  • Begin with the club in the front stack position (elbow tucked to ribs, wrist is neutral, knuckles facing up). Stand tall and relaxed.
  • We’re going to initiate the movement with an outside elbow circle which takes the club from the front of the body to the back of the body to go to the ‘sword in sheath’ position.
  • Once we’re in the ‘sword in sheath’ position, cast the club into the ‘Y’ position (club should be on index finger)
  • Drop the club and return the club to the ‘front stack’ position.
  • Be sure to take the club through the full range of movement.
  • When performing the outside elbow circle, the wrist stays in a fixed neutral position.

As you become proficient in the movement you can increase your speed, every now and then, stop and make sure you’re performing all the movements; front stack, outside elbow circle, Y, swing, back to front stack.
