STRUCTURE
PART 1 — Redefining Strength
Start here:
Traditional belief:
Strength = how much you can lift.
3D belief:
Strength = how well you can organize force in every direction.
Then clarify:
Force is essential.
But force alone is incomplete.
You are not anti-load.
You are anti-imbalance.
PART 2 — Force Production
Define clearly:
Force production
= the ability to generate load against resistance.
Examples (conceptual, not exercise-based):
• Pushing
• Pulling
• Driving
• Rotating
• Lifting
This is where most training focuses.
Then say:
Most programs train force production.
Few train force absorption.
That’s the pivot.
PART 3 — Force Absorption
Define it:
Force absorption
= the ability to decelerate and dissipate load safely.
Explain:
• Catching
• Landing
• Slowing rotation
• Controlling a swing
• Managing shifting mass
This is where breakdown happens.
Not in production.
In deceleration.
Then state:
Strength is not just what you can create.
It’s what you can control when it comes back at you.
That’s strong.
PART 4 — Acceleration vs Deceleration
Clarify:
Acceleration builds power.
Deceleration builds durability.
If someone can accelerate but not decelerate:
• Joints take the stress
• Timing degrades
• Compensation appears
Then reinforce:
Durable strength requires mastery of both.
Keep it balanced.
PART 5 — Elastic vs Grind
This is your subtle wedge.
Grinding strength:
• Constant tension
• Slow
• Linear
• Controlled but rigid
Elastic strength:
• Accelerate
• Relax
• Re-accelerate
• Manage rebound
Explain clearly:
Grinding builds output.
Elastic strength builds adaptability.
Then land this:
Grinding builds force.
Adaptive strength builds durability.
Do not dismiss grind — just contextualize it.
PART 6 — Bilateral vs Unilateral Force
Explain:
Bilateral strength:
• Stable
• Symmetrical
• High load potential
Unilateral strength:
• Exposes asymmetry
• Increases stabilization demand
• Improves real-world transfer
Then state:
Bilateral strength builds capacity.
Unilateral strength builds competence.
That’s clean.
PART 7 — Structural Reminder
Bring it back to the Triangle:
Force without range = restriction.
Force without control = breakdown.
Then add this refinement:
When force outpaces range and control, fragility increases.
This ties back to Module 1 perfectly.
